Fall Colors Inspired Deep Tones Silk Velvet Ribbon Flatlay
Flatlays are the first look at the wedding’s theme and we’re here to provide tips on making yours stand out!
It's very, very important for weddings to have a single, united theme that can be observed from every single detail of the event. Planning a beach wedding? Going back to the classic design from the '90s? Everyone has to know which theme you're going for from the get go.
Fall season is all about the deeper tones of colors. Mix up that palette with modern details and you're super good to go! However, for today's blog, we decide to mix things up a bit. Who's to say vintage and modern don't go together? All photos are from the amazing Kristina Curtis. Check out her work here.
Spice Up that Flatlay with Romantic Dark Velvet Tones
Don't get us wrong, light colored wedding palettes exude a dreamy and whimsical effect but one of the hottest trends this year is dark, luxe tones. Color palettes under this ongoing theme usually features dark and bold pops of color.
Golden amber silk velvet ribbons go great with dark blue shades. Now that we have chosen two bold colors that complement each other, we decided to go for vintage wedding accessories with neutral colors. Vintage meets modern color palettes, perfectly balancing out each other.
Different Shades of Silk Velvet Ribbons on the Same Mallard Blue Backdrop
Different shades of green and blue also go great with our featured backdrop. Just make sure the shades are not too similar to mallard blue so the silk velvet ribbons won't get washed out with the background.
We're also loving the rugged looks of silk velvet ribbons. It somehow contributes to the vintage aspect of the flatlay. If you think there's too much color happening already, tone it down with neutral shades of white and beige.
If you think golden amber tones is too beyond your comfort zone but still wants to keep the luxe dark palette, then no worries! White silk velvet ribbons are more traditional when it comes to weddings. Besides, they also look great with our dark flatlay backdrop!
Achieve that dreamy effect without giving up the modern luxe aspect of our flatlay design by using beige silk velvet ribbons! This reminds us so much of vintage Italian wedding elements.
The electric blue wedding invitation we showed earlier goes great with our dark backdrop but if you want to add more vintage elements, you can always use vintage-inspired invitations! Want an added zest? Put some actual red stamp on it! Guests will surely be excited to open them up.
Different orange tones balance out today's flatlay design so if you're wondering if luxe, dark palettes go well with brighter pops of oranges, the answer is yes! Golden amber silk velvet ribbons give off a dusky, romantic atmosphere. Meanwhile, lighter and brighter oranges bring a whimsical touch to the overall look of our featured flatlay design.
We simply showed you how vintage and modern elements go great together in a flatlay design with a dark backdrop. You can use this as an inspiration for modern wedding theme! Remember to be consistent with the details. Don't also be afraid of going for dark, bolder colors. Shop all featured silk ribbons here!
