Dark Fantasy Inspired Wedding Shoot Featuring Black Table Linens
Aside from fall, the spooky season is almost upon us so what better way to celebrate it with a dark fantasy inspired wedding photoshoot? If you think weddings should always have to be a dreamy, light-filled event, then think again.
For today’s blog, we have the perfect dusky wedding photoshoot that will excite you to your bones. This is the perfect wedding design for couples who are in love with everything dark and mysterious. The candlelit dinner elements are also to die for!
Famous Greek mythological couple Hades and Persephone might have a stormy love affair you don’t want to have but we can’t deny that this wedding design is slightly based on them. Become the god and the goddess of the underworld with our wedding design featuring black table linens. Yes, we went for black table linens for a wedding and it is both ethereal and gorgeous.
Dusky and Thrilling Tablescape Design with Black Table Linens
Get the perfect dark fantasy wedding with inky black table linens! Who said weddings are strictly ‘white’ occasions? The use of black table linens create a sleek and luxe mood that will surely thrill guests. We wanted to keep the romantic elements in line with the wedding, of course, so we went for a candlelit tablescape design. Tim Burton inspired wedding, anyone?
The candles come off as the pops of color in our tablescape design. Ivory plates in contrast with the inky table linens look like the guests are dining in the infinity of space. You can also opt for other nude tones to complement the black linens.
Today’s featured tablescape is admittedly out of the ordinary but it’s not entirely unconventional for weddings. In fact, one of the wedding trends to note for in 2019 is the use of luxe color palettes. If you want to go dusky and bold but want to keep the minimalist style, then go for black and other dark tones. Remember to include soft and dreamy romantic elements for the romantic side of the design.
Stygian Yet Romantic: Using Dark Color Palettes for Dark Fantasy Inspired Weddings
Complete your tablescape design with the perfect floral centerpiece. Since we’re using black table linens, keep the dark fantasy element going with the color palette of your floral centerpieces. We decided to include dark greens in our centerpiece to complement the mood and the lighting. Bold colors of purples and old pinks will complement both the table linens and the ivory flatware.
Time for cake! We have a single layered cake with white frosting and chocolate drippings. Put it in front of a black backdrop, and it looks absolutely perfect for a romantic dinner in the underworld. Again, don’t be afraid to go for those bold pops of color! We decided to use the same color palette as seen from the floral centerpieces to keep the theme going.
You can opt for either a black or white cake stand for this tablescape. There is also a third option to consider as well: dark rustic wood table cake stands. You can choose other nude color details for the cake stand.
Lovers in the Dark: Meet the Groom and the Bride
Complete the dusky, trendsetter wedding design by going for printed dark suits for the groom. We’re still keeping the traditional white dress for the bride. The dark fantasy elements for today’s wedding photoshoot is mainly focused on the groom’s suit. We can’t simply give up the beauty of a traditional white wedding gown.
If you think that the dark elements of this wedding theme is already slightly too much, you can always opt for light-colored suits for the groom. It makes the groom look clean cut and crisp as he waits for his Persephone walk down the aisle. We decided to use black details on the groom’s ivory suit to keep the theme going.
Complete the dusky dark fantasy wedding theme with a dark leafy bouquet that looks like it just got picked from a goddess’s garden!
Wow your guests and celebrate love as the god and goddess of the underworld with our dark fantasy inspired wedding shoot. Not even death will keep you two apart.
xoxo,
Jeanette
