The right side of the brain is responsible for our personal creativity and unique imagination. Why not wake the right side of the brain and create visual arts with the work you do at at home? In this modern age, there are many tips and tricks you can try indoors. While there’s nothing that can replace the professional work of our fave wedding photographers and pros, this quarantine period, try taking photographs of your work or whatever it is that you’re passionate about just to enhance the feeling of beauty that you feel towards it. This will stimulate your creativity in ways that may surprise you!

Try changing up the room’s lighting and see the impact it makes to the final product. You don’t have to be a professional photographer to come up withdecent-looking photograohs. Practise with different angles with your phone camera and try other design variations as well!

And while you’re at it, try different subjects as well. You can think of different photo sets with varying focus. For instance, you can try creating a cute mini-story with the things found in your kitchen. Or, you can try doing self-portraits in different attires! For the perfect close-up shot, try lowering the lights in your room, set your laptop’s brightness to the highest setting, and choose a color palette that you like. This will create a lighting effect that you might like!

Let’s Get Physical: Create Your Own Choreography

Being creative doesn’t have to be all visual. If you’re the type who wants to move and sweat it out, try creating your very own choreography! You don’t necessarily have to be a dancer for this. Even simple patterns for a solo zumba class using your very own re-imagined dance steps can keep your active creativity in play.

There are various videos online of dancers doing choreographies of the famous pop songs out there. You can try doing this as well! Here’s a little suggestion for a warm-up: pick one of your favorite dance-y songs in your playlist and play it over your speakers. Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and let yourself sway with the music. You might naturally choreograph some fresh move with this warm-up. You could also invite the whole family to join you especially the kids!

Not only are you creating, but you’re also keeping fit and healthy. Don’t forget to hydrate.

Write Your Own Ending of a Movie or Show

Take a break, sit down, and have fun writing your own movie ending!

Take a break, sit down, and have fun writing your own movie ending!

Ever watched a movie or a tv show with a disagreeable ending? Or do you have a favorite character that got killed off on screen? Get some pen and paper (or your laptop) and write the ending you want to happen! This is a great exercise that puts your imagination and literary prowess to great use. You can also see if you really know the characters from the film or show you’re writing about!

This is an easy and yet, interesting enough exercise for the right side of your brain. Aside from helping you relax, studies also show that writing can help you communicate better. You will worry less on getting your ideas across to people and you’ll have less of those ‘“it sounded better in my head” moments.
